The audio-visual installation 'Space Birds' shimmers amongst the dense foliage of Berlin's famous park Tiergarten, alluring visitors with its pale blue lights and the abstracted sounds of animals. Upon a tree hang florescent lights, countless speakers are dotted about emitting two dimensional sounds of synthesisers reminiscent of glorified space travel in the 1960's.
The sounds of space are mixed with other eerily ambient noises of crickets, the croak of frogs and woodlands. As with an orchestra, different sounds merge into new constellations. Individual speakers combine to create new patterns in composition. The unreal world created amidst the trees allows visitors a glimpse of a bygone future.
